Another Ramadan under the boot of the regime of cruelty and violence

Translated and edited by: Banafsheh zand
The Middle of Ramadan is a reminder of the event where agents of the regime that feigns piety, stormed Mr. Kazemeini-Boroujerdi’s residence, attacking him and his supporters. The regime of the Supreme Leader which is based on nothing more than deception and lies, ordered the brutal attack on those faithful and devout, who were present and fasting. Their only crime was opposing and protesting religious fundamentalism, and the implication of religion into politics. To that end, this Ramadan, Mr. Kazemeini-Boroujerdi has issued a statement from inside Evin prison, which is published below.

In the name of the Almighty,

Once again, another Ramadan is upon us and the regime of cruelty and political religionism, takes its essence of goodness hostage. What a pity that this righteous nation has been drained of all piety at the hands of the Supreme Leadership and has rendered the hearts of all believers and worshipers cold and disillusioned. Today, the rejected message of faith, resembles our politics. Vows of morality and principals, that had been made with devout members of our society have been broken, and suspicion, doubt and fear have taken their place. Oh Lord of Ramadan, I beseech you to come to the aid of those who have pledged themselves to your spirit and do not allow them, who for hundreds of years, sought you out and devoted their passions to you, now lose faith and turn away, as a result of this political Islam and it’s fraudulent religious canons.
It has been thirty four years of Ramadans, all of which have been for show; from the Suhoors, to the Iftars, tothe Fetr festivities, they have devoured people’s belongings and they have abused the spiritual convictions of society. The day they exploited the Shia authority and breached the purview of Ayatollah Seyyed Kazem Shariatmadari, they killed him and turned millions of his followers against bona fide Islam.

Now this imprisoned cleric, who opposes the implication of religion  into politics, and who with this very charge has been denied legal representation and medical treatment, I commence yet another Ramadan in detention. I pray for the freedom of all my fellow compatriots who suffer under the cruelty and poverty imposed upon them by this regime and hope for the collapse of this God-defying and murderous rule.

How can they expect these Mullah-damaged and downtrodden people to observe this sacred month, when during the time of their occupation of our country, they and their entourage, have violated every divine cannon. We have been witness to the lies and the brazen propaganda of the despots who debased all the divine laws in order to deceive and outsmart.

I call upon all the great scholars and courageous independent thinkers of the world of Islam to pray for the day when Islam can regain its reputation of peace and good will throughout this land.
