Mr. Boroujerdi was hospitalized for three days due to a severe respiratory problem.
Despite suffering from various complications as a result of eleven years of imprisonment and torture in the prisons of the Islamic Republic, Mr. Boroujerdi has refrained from visiting his doctor for years out of solidarity with many Iranian citizens who cannot afford high medical expenses and also in protest against ongoing security threats and restrictions (imposed home confinement), as well as threats to the medical staff and doctors by intelligence and security agents.
Unfortunately, his health condition has deteriorated, and he was hospitalized in the emergency ward of a hospital in Tehran.
Mr. Boroujerdi, also known as the Founder of Monotheism without Borders, was arrested and imprisoned in 2006 due to his open support for secularism. After eleven years of imprisonment, torture, and denial of medical services, he was temporarily released from prison in 2017 under medical furlough but remains deprived of his citizenship rights and under house arrest. Due to enduring the extremely harsh conditions of eleven years of imprisonment in prisons such as Evin and Yazd Military Prison, he suffers from various illnesses and complications. At the age of 65, he experiences severe tremors in his hands and body, debilitating joint pains, severe curvature of the spine, heart and lung diseases, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes, and more.
It is worth mentioning that special intelligence interventions in their treatment process, such as threatening their treating physicians and confiscating medical records from physicians' offices or hospitals they visit, have prevented doctors from addressing the consequences and pains resulting from prison torture, and his condition worsens day by day. Last week, due to his deteriorating health and acute respiratory problems, he was unconscious and transferred to the emergency department, where he was hospitalized for three days.
In hopes of freedom for all political and ideological prisoners,
The Representatives of Boroujerdi, the Founder of Monotheism without Borders.
